Being Profitable in Internet Marketing

Have you ever gotten so busy with your business that you forget what you are all about?  I have.  I have gotten involved with Tiffany Dow’s 30 day Article Writing challenge.  Take a look here if you are interested. I know it has been a week since the beginning but she encourages all comers!

So needless to say I am writing for that.  I do ghostwriting, too, so I have my hours taken up writing like a maniac!

On top of which I have committed myself to using Jason Fladlien’s Internet Millionaire Recipe – head on over to look at his site here

Being profitable is what we are here for, right, and Jason really makes it all very clear.  I have been “doing” this biz for over two years now, learning the ropes and taking it all very seriously.  But I just didn’t quite get the whole picture, till now.  All of Jason’s products are over the top best bang for the buck ever.  I have been using his Instant Product Creation – 48 Hour Report as well as his 7 minute Article (although I am still working on getting it down to 7 minutes) both of which are cutting edge.  You will not find anything else like them ANYWHERE!

Check out the Instant Product Creation – 48 Hour Report – you won’t be sorry.

Hanging Out at the Warrior Forum

For those who are new to the Internet Marketing world, the Warrior Forum is the largest forum of its kind which caters to the folks who design websites, write content, sell anything on the internet.

I Joined a year ago and have visited on and off but never really got “into” it.  A lot of the time is was stuff way over my head so I just lurked.

But in the past month I have spent more time there and even gotten involved.  Most of the folks there are SUPER helpful and ready to lend a hand if you need assistance.  I have to admit I have hung around simply because you hear first hand what products do what and what are the best deals out there for the Internet Marketer.

Warriors will make what is called a WSO or Warrior special offer which is when a member may offer a new product of service to other members at a greatly reduced price.  Ooooo the bargain hunter in me LOVES the deals you can get on the #1 best info products out there.

If you haven’t been there it’s free to join the main discussion forum.  Pop in for a visit – you might just get addicted!  http://warriorforum.com

Digital or Physical Products – Which is More Appropriate?

Lee McIntyre raised a question on his blog today that really struck a cord with me. It regards the use of physical products as opposed to digital. I have a decided opinion on that that I left a comment there. See http://www.lee-mcintyre.com/blog/physical-or-digital#comment-11585 for my take on the subject.

Thank You, Tiffany Dow

Anyone who has been in Internet Marketing for long will have heard of Tiffany Dow – aka Ghostwriter to the gurus.  This amazing gal has managed a corporation and at the same time been there for her kids.  Her PLR is the best – bar none.  Take a look at her stuff at http://plrminimart.com I promise you, you won’t be disappointed with the quality and the price just can’t be beat!!  (She could charge $35 or more a page)

I just have to plug Tiffany because she generously let me dip my toe in the water in the ghost writing business.  It is thanks to her that I now have the confidence to do what I do!  She patiently guided my blundering first attempts, caught my boo-boos and didn’t “smack” me for it and still paid me for it!!

It has been a priviledge to work with you, Tiff.  If you read this, please know that you have made a huge impact on my life in more ways than one!  You are #1!

The 48 Hour Report: An Honest Review

OK.  It’s no secret – I love to write!  For as long as I can remember, words and the art of communicating has fascinated me.  Even when I write a personal letter, I like to take the time to form it well so the other person knows I took the time to get my point across.

Only recently have I applied my love for writing to articles and reports, but I love to do that now, too.  And like any student of their craft, I am always looking for the best tools for the trade and most useful education.

Which brings me to the point of this post: Jason Fladlien is fast making a name for himself within the Internet Marketing scene.  He is known for clean, concise instructions in his reports and videos.  His clear and multi-phase way of teaching makes it simple for all who would read and see his products to understand.  The first time I read one of his reports, my first reaction was, “Wow, this guy really knows what he is talking about!”

His latest offering – 48 Hour Report – is over the top.  Many, many reports have been written that teach how to write profitable eBooks in as short a time as possible.  What sets Jason’s reports apart is that he teaches to all of us!  Some of us need to know “why” something works before we will be convinced to buy or use it.  We want to know if it will give us some power to be the best, quickest, richest or that others will want to be around me or what puts them off.

Still others need to know “what” – just what does this product do that will benefit me?

Still others need to know “how” it works the nuts and bolts of the report.  The step by step procedure.

And finally there are the folks that need to know “what if”.

Jason has created THE product that teaches to all of our learning needs.  The 48 Hour Report teaches you and me to write in an organized, systematic way so nothing is left out- nothing is left to guess work.  You will know how to create an info product that far surpasses the competition simply because the other guys don’t cover all the bases!

Think about it.  Have you ever bought an info product that made you feel “in the dark”?  Or you went “huh?  something’s missing”.  They most certainly had a great system but weren’t able to put it across to teach you how to do it.

Well, Jason’s unique system takes you by the hand to teach you how to teach others.  Using videos and an excellent report, he outlines each phase.  Then if that is not enough, he offers personalized coaching!!  You’d think this would cost you an arm and a leg – but it doesn’t.  For the price of a nice dinner out, you can have state of the art instruction in how to create “killer” report in 48 hours.  See what other are saying here

Oh, if you were looking for a negative about Jason and his excellent reports, it is this: he is soooo excited about what he is teaching that he whizzes along in his videos.  But that’s OK, you just need to watch it through a couple of times and your brain will come up to speed ;-)

Grab Your Internet Marketing Lifestyle!

When I have been asked what marketers have made the biggest impact on my Internet Marketing career, I have to say, Lee McIntyre, right off the bat.  Maybe it is because I found him on the upswing of his own business and his enthusiasm swept me up?  I don’t know.  But I do know he is the genuine article.  A natural born teacher, Lee knows how to communicate his ideas well.  You never feel in the dark.  And he always, always, gives more than you pay for.  Always.

Well, I came to find another marketer, Terry Dean, through Lee.  I think they went to the same school!  Both know their business and both care about giving the customer (that’s me and you) the best value for the money.  Period.

So, when I stumbled over this unique audio interview with Terry by Lee, I honestly felt like I got to be a bug on the wall.  “Grab Your Lifestyle” lets you listen in while Lee picks Terry’s brain on some of his most successful “secrets” that gave him the lifestyle you and I dream about.

If you hear an excitement in my tone, it is not hype.  I am genuinely glad to have found both Terry and Lee.  To hear them both together is a real treat and for the money you will never get a better deal.  Check it out here

Article Writing: Your Billboards to Success

You will hear me mention writing a lot on this site, simply because the written word is the medium of exchange on the Internet.  If you don’t learn to write articles, reports and ebooks, frankly, you will not get far in the business of Internet Marketing.

Even if you sell software or more tangible goods, you still need to write ads and articles to promote your product or service.

When I started out in this business some 2 years ago, I was overwhelmed at all the “new” things I needed to learn.  Web  Design, graphics, info product writing, to name a few of the more intimidating aspects of Internet Marketing.  But I was (still am) determined to get a good grasp on the various skills necessary, at least at first till I can outsource the work.

So, I have become fairly efficient at making graphics.  I have learned how to poke my way around WordPress.  I have written and finished a dozen ebooks or reports.  I can make an OK sales letter with a Paypal button!  I even mastered the Aweber thing.

So, what have I lacked?  Article Writing or more specifically article marketing.  Sure, I post to this blog and my other blogs but somehow I have either put off or neglected the aspect of publishing articles to the ezine directories.  What this amounts to is that all this past two years I have built several substantial lemonade stands complete with cookies and air conditioning on a deserted road in the middle of the desert!

Ever hear of Wall Drug?  Anyone who has driven I-90 across the northern states has been entertained by these huge billboard signs along a relatively deserted stretch of highway from Montana to Minnesota.  These billboards pop up every 5 – 10 miles all along the route.  It is frankly the only thing on the landscape for hundreds of miles.

Perhaps you have seen these bumper stickers that say, “I’ve Been to Wall Drug”.  They never made sense to me till I actually drove that lonely track.  It seems that Wall, South Dakota is just another dot on the map.  Like any other town along an interstate, it hoped to attract visitors to their various businesses.   But they were smack dab in the middle of no-where land.  Cars and trucks streamed by day and night on I-90.  So how do you grab some of that traffic?

It seems the proprietor of Wall Drug was an entrepreneur at heart.  What did he do?  He offered free ice water.  Free ice water??  Yup. He decided what these long haul truckers and automobile drivers needed was an excuse to stop by his shop and ice water was a novelty back then.

He invested in billboards which to this day dot the highway.  They still bring visitors in from all over who have read these quirky even annoying messages.  Now Wall, South Dakota – which could have been a no-name town in the middle of no where – gets regular visitors, LOTS of visitors all because a smart businessman decided to offer a freebie and then put out signs pointing the way to his store.

The moral of this story is that you need to get together a valuable freebie on your site and then post your signs on the highway – i. e. write useful articles!!  Then submit them to the ezine directories with a bio box that points folks to your lemonade stand or free ice water!!

If you don’t feel comfortable writing, you have two options.  Learn to write.  I like to write, now.  But I used to be all thumbs at it.  It takes practice but really once you get the hang of it, it is no sweat.  Andrew Hansen’s report on “Article Speed Writing” was the one report I have bought that moved me from challenged to “expert” in a matter of no time.  I have bought a whole slew of “how to write articles” type reports and they all work OK, but Andrew’s report probably made the biggest impact on my writing success.

[Edit: 9/10/2008 :  Take a look at my post on "48 Hour Report" by Jason Fladlien for another option.  "48 Hour" has video instructions and is far more detailed and includes bonuses that are worth the price of the package alone!  Article Speed Writing is a great basic course.  They are both still the best!]

But if writing isn’t your bag, have someone do it for you.  It will come to a point where it actually makes sense to pay someone else to write for you (that’s the topic of another article!).  I write articles to make a little extra money.  And I write for someone else who writes for someone else!  So, why not get those articles written for you if you don’t have the talent.  Ghostwriting goes for anywhere from $5 a page on up to $20+ for the top writers.

Any way you go about it, get your signs out on the highway.  Write those articles and pay someone to do it for you!  Next thing you know, you will be the “go to” website for your expertise.  Ever been to Wall Drug? ;-)

Learning the Language of Internet Marketing & Web Design

I have never had to do it before, personally, but I have heard that the best way to learn a new language is to immerse yourself in it.  You have to go so far as to live and interact with the people who speak their language natively.

The same goes for Internet Marketing.  And within that, web design, with all its technical “language”.

Two years ago, I was like an American visiting, say, China with not a lick of knowledge of the language.  Can you imagine on your first day, you have to find a bathroom fast and you frantically look for someone – ANYone – who is willing to listen to you in the first place and secondly take the time to show you the way.

Internet Marketing is like that.  There are lots of courses out there – great ones.  But until you immerse yourself in the “land of Internet Marketing” and learn the language and web design dialect, you could be as frustrated as a person with a full bladder in the middle of Chinatown!

Take PHP, for instance.  I have no idea how to get around in it.  Now, HTML I managed to figure out OK.  But PHP is like Russian, to me.  But I know that if I want to navigate the “land of Internet Marketing” I need to at least master the basics.

It really is my responsibility to learn my craft, to at least manage a bit of it so I can communicate to someone who does know how to do it, just what it is that I want.

Someday, I will outsource the technical stuff.  But until I can, I am determined to learn the language of web design and Internet Marketing, well, at least just enough to get to the bathroom

(thanks to Mark W. for the inpiration of this message!)

Make Your Own Red & Green Submit Button For Opt-in Box

Today was a very educational day for me.  I learned how to use Snagit while I wrote out my report, “Create A Cool Looking Opt-in Box with a Red/green Submit Button”.  Yes, just like the one on my opt-in box on the right sidebar.

Snagit was surprisingly easy to use and it took less time than I thought to put it all together.  It is 11 pages long so I put in a pdf.  Get a free copy of the report here:  http://thehinessite.com/blog/redgreensubmitbutton.pdf

I am anxious to hear what you all think.  Did you find it useful?  What improvements can be made?  You technical types, any suggestions?  I am all ears!

Making It Happen in Internet Marketing

Today was a day of just grinding away at the chores of Internet Marketing.  I finished an ebook and uploaded it to one of my niche sites.  I did some messages for my auto responder and created a new Optin for the niche site.

But I didn’t do what I wanted to!  I have a list, my brain, I call it.  I have my daily To Do’s:

  • check and answer emails
  • fix problems relating to boo-boos and customer issues
  • write an entry for each of my growing niche blog sites (at least every other day)
  • dig for keywords for my main niche site (i have over 6000 keywords and phrases ;-)

But here is the deal:

I also want to create a Squidoo lens, a Knol, a Hub page and an ezine article for each keyword.  All this to build my “empire” as Tiffany Dow calls it.  That’s a LOT of writing!  So, while I get all the other stuff done, by the time the end of my day comes I realize that those pesky articles aren’t done.

I am thinking out loud right now… I am going to break down my empire building differently.  Every full day I can get my hands on, I will do that writing!

What is it that you aren’t getting around to?  Visiting forums?  Writing articles?  tweaking sales copy?  If you haven’t figured out by now that Internet marketing is work, I am here to tell you – it is!  but I love it!  The folks are great.  The freedom to build your own business is great.  Writing your own paycheck is (going to be) great!

So, let’s roll up our sleeves and dig in – it’s only a matter of time and …
